Treasurer Issues Request for Proposal for Banking Designation
On January 23, 2012, State Treasurer of Ohio Josh Mandel will release on
OhioTreasurer.gov a Request for Proposal (“RFP”) for the award of active
deposits of the public moneys of the State of Ohio for a period of two
years commencing on July 2, 2012 (“Designation Period”). Responses to
the RFP shall be received in the Treasurer’s office no later than 3:00
PM on February 27, 2012. On March 19, 2012, the Board of Deposit will
award active deposits for the Designation Period.
To hold active or interim deposits during the Designation Period, a
financial institution must apply or renew its eligibility as a
depository of public funds for the Designation Period. An application
to serve as a public depository for active and interim deposits must be
received by the Treasurer’s office by February 27, 2012. Any
application received after that date will be considered only for interim
deposits. All applications are to be in accordance with Ohio Revised
Code Chapter 135 and submitted to Josh Mandel, Chairman, Ohio Board of
Deposit, 30 East Broad Street, 9th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215-3461. On
January 23, 2012, the Application/Agreement to Serve as Depository of
Public Funds will be available on this website.
