On April 9, 2009, Governor Ted Strickland signed an executive order creating the Ohio Complete Count Committee for the 2010 Census and appointed Treasurer Kevin L. Boyce chair of this committee.
The Treasurer fully understands how the Census data collected impacts the infrastructure and neighborhood development across our state. The data collected during the 2010 Census will be used to distribute more than $400 billion dollars to states and local communities.
An accurate count of residents will ensure that Ohio continues to receive our share of federal funding for these vital community services. In addition, the Census data will help determine Ohio’s representation in the U.S. House of Representatives over the next decade, as we are expected to lose two Congressional seats.
The Treasury encourages you to tell your friends, family and community about the importance of completing the 2010 Census form to help Ohio achieve a complete count.
