CPIM Online Course

Welcome, public funds manager! The Ohio Treasury is proud to offer Center for Public Investment (CPIM) online courses for experienced public funds managers who have attended CPIM conferences or accredited courses for several years to meet their continuing education requirements (as set forth in the Ohio Revised Code Sections 321.46 and 135.22.)

CPIM's mission is to provide high-quality and comprehensive education with instruction in the areas of finance, investments, cash management (including debt issuance and debt management), and ethics.

To register for an online course, you must certify having four years or more experience as a public funds manager. The Treasury has designed CPIM Academy to align with typical university course structures: 100-level courses are for public funds managers with 0-3 years experience, while 200-level courses and above are for managers with four (4) or more years experience in their role. The Treasury believes that traditional face-to-face, group education is best for new public funds managers. After registration, you will receive an automatic e-mail with a link to the online course.

A completed online course provides 1.25 hours of CPIM credit. In order to earn credit for an online course, you must download, complete and submit a CPIM certification of hours form at the end of viewing the course. (Note: You will receive credit after your certification fee is processed.)

Instructions for taking a CPIM online course
  • After you properly register for the course, your email confirmation will contain a link that will allow you to view the course. This link can be found at the bottom of your email under “Note to Attendees”. Copy and paste this link into your Internet browser to view the course.
  • You may be prompted to install Microsoft Silverlight to view the course. This software program is provided free.
  • Questions based on the course material are embedded at various points during the course. Although correct answers are available, you will be required to correctly answer the majority of the questions to be able to proceed.
  • The course format will not permit you to fast forward. You may review information you have already viewed and then return to where you left the course.
  • If you close or lose connection to the course, you are welcomed to re-register for the course.
  • After completing a brief survey to finish the course, you will receive an e-mail on how to obtain credit.
